About this site

Batty On Tour is not a traditional travel blog. It is a collection of stories, observations and experiences from somewhere between the cockpit, the cabin, the hotel lobby and the streets of cities that never really sleep.

What started with aviation slowly turned into a fascination for the entire journey around it. The strange beauty of airports at 5 a.m., the charm of old hotel bars, the small cafés nobody talks about, the silent competition between airlines pretending to be premium, and the occasional moment where travelling still feels like a real adventure instead of a perfectly optimized algorithm.

Batty travels as both a passionate private pilot and an endlessly curious observer. Sometimes that means flying across Europe in a small aircraft with questionable weather and excellent views. Other times it means crossing continents in Business Class while quietly wondering how an airline can charge thousands for a seat but still fail to make a decent espresso.

This site is about aviation, travel and the details most people overlook. Honest airline reviews, hotels that deserve the hype — and many that absolutely do not — restaurants worth remembering, pilot life, ATPL training, technology, flying culture and the strange rituals of modern travel.

But above all, Batty On Tour is written for people who still romanticize travelling a little. The ones who look out of the aircraft window during boarding. The ones who enjoy the atmosphere of a good lounge almost as much as the destination itself. The ones who understand that sometimes the best stories happen somewhere between departure and arrival.

Sharp observations, a bit of humor, occasional turbulence — and absolutely no fake “10/10 paradise” nonsense.

Welcome aboard.
